Mashups
I love music just as much as I love video games and art, but unfortunately I've never been able to make music of my own. I have a basic understanding of music theory, and I've played piano since I was eight, but I just don't know how to compose.
That said, I'm quite fascinated with the idea of music mashups. Taking two or more pre-existing songs and combining them together to make an entirely new song is a pretty cool concept, and mashup artists out there have made some really neat works, some of my favorites being Neil Cicierega and Chongo .
Here you can find various mashups that I've made. All of them were created in Audacity, and the samples were acquired using a YouTube to MP3 converter in most cases, or from download links on various websites. Additionally, PhonicMind and melody.ml were used to get instrumental and vocal tracks for songs that didn't have existing ones available.
